We are looking for someone enthusiastic and motivated to join our Graduate School This role will be based on our University Park campus and will be part of the researcher support administration team.  The Graduate School supports postgraduates and early career research staff by providing a range of services including training and development courses, events and conferences, short-term placements, funding opportunities, and dedicated social and study spaces.

The successful candidate will help to organise and promote the Graduate School’s events and placements programmes, to an internal audience of postgraduates and early career researchers.    The role will provide administrative support to the Graduate School, working closely with the Placements Co-ordinator to ensure efficient and smooth running of the placements programme and the Researcher Support Manager assisting with the administration and organisation of promotional events. 

As well as gaining on the job experience and expertise working with a wide range of staff within the department, and University, regular visits with a tutor from a local college will also form part of the apprenticeship.

Throughout the programme support is provided by Professional Development and the successful candidate will be allocated a mentor within the Graduate School. During your time at the University you will be able to take part in a wide range of University activities. Applicants should have five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade A - C  including Mathematics and English (preferably all at grade B or above) and have the ability to rise to the challenge this opportunity presents. They must also satisfy the requirements for the Government’s Apprenticeship Scheme see: http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk/.

This full-time apprenticeship is available from September 2017 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2019. 

This position does not fulfil the UK Visas & Immigration sponsorship criteria for Tier 2, therefore we can only accept applications from candidates who already have the right to work in UK.
