The Student and Academic Administration (SAA) professional service offers a friendly and supportive working environment in which a suitable administrator can make a real difference to the efficient delivery of its activities.  As a member of our friendly and efficient administrative team, the person appointed will have the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the continued success of the Student and Academic Administration professional service.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated administrator in the Faculty of Physical Sciences & Engineering. The team organises administration for a range of Undergraduate, Postgraduate Taught and Research programmes associated with our three Academic Units, Electronics & Computer Science, The Optoelectronics Research Centre and Physics & Astronomy.  You will work closely with the team members and academic staff to support the delivery of student and academic administration through all stages of the annual cycle.

Major elements of the post will be to co-ordinate the day to day activities of the different Faculty administration teams; organising and monitoring workload and reporting to the Team Leader and Faculty Academic Registrar to deliver an effective and efficient service to beneficiaries and stakeholders. The post holder will be required to apply a detailed knowledge of systems and processes associated withal aspects of the student life cycle and will establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic staff within the Faculty and other senior colleagues in Professional Services.

You will be an excellent team player with experience and a proven ability to work proactively. You will be confident in supervising a busy team and work well under pressure. You will be well organised and adaptable, taking a positive approach in reviewing processes and practices. You will possess excellent communication, organisational and inter-personal skills and a commitment to providing excellent customer service is also required. You will also have experience of processing and analysing complex data sets using multiple systems.
