Description :

An opportunity has arisen for a project manager to join the HEFCE-funded project “Come on in to our research labs.” The role is to provide management and leadership to the project as we seek to develop and implement new activities and events, initially within the School of Pharmacy, and then more widely. This will involve the development of relationships with different communities and agencies in the University, to allow the project to develop and grow. For example: undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate research (PGR) student groups; the Nottingham Advantage Award; the University transforming teaching programme; other schools. The role involves working closely with academic and administrative colleagues, both within and outside the School, and involves a high degree of independent and autonomous working.

This project is a learning and teaching innovation project, which aims to open-up and share our research laboratories and the science within, by bringing UG and PGR students together.  The project aims to provide UG students will experiences of research and the research workplace, PGR students with experiences of mentoring, and will develop skills in science communication, creativity, team-working and networking in both UG and PGR contributors.  The post-holder will lead and manage the project, working with the Academic Project Lead Dr Cristina De Matteis, and will support the development and implementation of the teaching innovation within the project.

You will have a good first degree or equivalent, or substantial, equivalent experience.

The post is available with immediate effect, but has a fixed end date of the 30April 2018. Hours of work are part-time (14.5 hours which can be worked flexibly over a minimum of 2 days per week).
