With a strong background in nuclear data and simulations research, you will investigate the mechanisms by which heavy isotopes fission to emit neutrons, and compare the results of simulations made with a variety of methods to recently-obtained experimental data.

You should have a PhD in Nuclear Physics, Nuclear Engineering or equivalent, and a strong background in nuclear data and the use of simulations and modelling methods.  Experience in using Monte Carlo techniques, such as MCNP and GEANT4 is essential. You will be familiar with nuclear instrumentation, aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle and safeguards, and be willing to engage in internal as well as national and international external collaborations.

You will be joining a dedicated group of scientists and engineers working in allied fields in new and well-equipped laboratory space.

This is a six month fixed term appointment.
