Research Fellow (2 Posts) ERE4

You will work within the Data Science Hub and benefit from collaboration with our dedicated team of data scientists, operational researchers, medical statisticians and other quantitative researchers.  The data science team has undertaken a range of short and long-term research projects.  Your primary role will be working on applied modelling research in collaboration with our partner organisations including the NHS.

This is an exciting opportunity for modellers interested in applied and methodological research to improve health service delivery.  A general grounding in mathematical modelling, coding and analysis of complex data are essential for the role.  Candidates will also need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with people from outside of a research environment.  We are particularly keen to attract modellers with interests or skills in one or more of the following areas; vehicle routing and scheduling, facility location, simulation methods, and machine learning.

The Data Science Hub provides a unique opportunity for a modeller who is interested in making analytics and data science work within a health and social care system.  The team aims to make data science workable for the NHS. Applicants will be an expected to work both independently and as part of a team.

We encourage applications from any candidate that feels they can make an impact in this area.   All candidates with a background in applied quantitative or computational sciences are welcome to apply.
