Description :

Cognitive-Behaviour Therapist (anxiety and related problems)

The Department of Psychology at the University of Bath is completing a significant expansion. The Department occupies a new purpose-built five storey building, containing two floors of laboratories, including state-of-the-art EEG/ERP, virtual reality, social observation, psychobiology, eye-tracking, pain, cross-modal and computerised testing labs.

The Department operates a highly successful DClinPsych programme with accreditation from the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. This appointment will help to support our capacity in providing this program, and we are seeking applicants who have the capacity to function in the role of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapist, ideally on a full-time basis, but job-share and part-time applications will be considered.  This post is available on 3-year fixed term or secondment.

The Department has an established tradition of ‘theoretically informed applied psychology’ and we are seeking applicants with demonstrable research impact. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise, staff were returned in different units of assessment, the largest of which (Allied Health Professions) obtained the highest REF2014 rating across the whole University. The University was ranked 12th overall in the UK in REF2014. The Department was placed second in the country in The Complete University Guide, The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016, and 1st in the Guardian 2018. More information about the Department can be found at http://www.bath.ac.uk/psychology/.

The University of Bath is situated in the beautiful World Heritage City of Bath and is part of the GW4 group of leading Universities (with Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter). Bath is also a member of the ERSC-funded South West Doctoral Training Partnership, which provides up to 45 PhD studentships each year across the partner institutions.  Bath is 15 minutes from Bristol by train and 90 minutes from London and Oxford.

Informal enquiries can be directed to the Programme Director, Professor Paul Salkovskis (p.m.salkovskis@bath.ac.uk; 01225 38 4350) or the Admissions Tutor, Dr. Lorna Hogg (l.i.hogg@bath.ac.uk; 01225 38 6563).

Presentations and Interview: Nov 20, 2017.

The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service (DBS Check).
