Description :

Director of Collaborative Academic Partnerships (CA17/02)

Universities are about enhancing life choices and transforming lives. We pride ourselves on recruiting students from diverse backgrounds and enabling them to shape their learning experience to suit their lifestyles and aspirations. We encourage our students to dare to be different, to aim to achieve great things and support them through their journey providing an excellent learning experience.

Staffordshire University is in the midst of exciting times. In a landscape of seismic change in Higher Education, we have launched a new Strategic Plan and are reshaping the way we work, to ensure that we are fit for the future and able to seize emerging opportunities and deal with challenges. This has engendered an optimism and energy amongst our staff and students, who are playing a central role in shaping our future.

We recognise that we have to improve our performance against relevant benchmarks and in external league tables, but we are pleased that we are beginning to see a step change. In 2017, our NSS outcome in overall student satisfaction was 85%, one per cent above the sector average. Recently the University was rated number 1 in the UK for graduate employability (excluding specialist colleges) for students in employment or further study, as measured by the DLHE Survey. In 2017, we saw a rise of 14 places to 69th in the Guardian league table, in June, we were pleased to receive silver status in the TEF, and in September, we saw a rise of 29 places to 63rd in the Good University Guide league table.

We pride ourselves on our work with partners at every level. We are a university that is both of and for our city and region, maximising the impact of our presence in Stoke and Staffordshire. We are playing a key role in the bid to become the City of Culture in 2021. With our focus on applied learning and research, we work with partners in industry and business across all of our activities.

Our excellent teaching and learning, and applied research, make us a trusted partner across the UK and internationally. We are one of the largest providers of transnational education in the sector with circa 22 partners in 16 different countries and we also have a large number of partnerships with UK Further Education colleges.

Along with the above post, we are now seeking to recruit a number of senior roles across the organisation to lead the delivery of the Strategic Plan. These roles are key to the University’s success and will provide both a challenging and exciting opportunity with a competitive rewards package:
