Lancaster University Careers Service is seeking an experienced Careers professional to provide bespoke careers support for our medical students. Working with Careers Service staff and the Director of Medical Studies, you will play a strategic lead in enhancing the employability of our medical students in accordance with the University's employability strategy and employability implementation plan as part of the University's 2020 strategy.

Based in the Faculty of Health and Medicine, you will provide careers and employability education, information, advice and guidance to our medical students at all stages of their programme. You will design, develop, deliver and evaluate careers workshops, and a programme of employer led events for students across all years of study. You will provide one to one advice and guidance both face to face and via e-guidance. You will design, and develop tailored online careers information that enhances the students' sector knowledge and career planning and which supports our Digital Lancaster strategy and vision.

You will be educated to at least to degree level, ideally have a postgraduate careers qualification, and preferably be qualified to teach in HE. You will have demonstrable knowledge and experience in the provision of careers and employability education, advice and guidance to students studying medicine, and experience or interest in the design and development of tailored on line resources. The post will require excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritise and manage your workload, and the effective building of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The hours of this post are flexible and can be negotiated with the Director of Medical Studies and your line manager. This is a fixed term appointment (until 23 November 2018) to cover maternity leave and is to be appointed on 0.1 FTE.
