This post is an exciting opportunity to join the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU). The unit is a rapidly growing academic unit within the University of Nottingham that supports clinical trials within the University and local NHS trust. 

The unit is seeking to recruit an experienced database and systems developer with a strong background in database and business system development and maintenance. The post holder will work within our multidisciplinary team to provide support for development and maintenance of unit-wide business systems and clinical trial databases, plus contribute to the ongoing improvement of system reporting, documentation and accessibility.

Candidates should have a minimum HNC in Computer Science or allied subject, plus substantial work experience in a similar role or proven track record with extensive work experience in a similar role. They must be able to demonstrate considerable practical involvement in aspects writing and maintaining static and dynamic web pages, writing and maintaining technical documentation, proficient in writing SQL for interrogation of relational databases and ability to program (specifically using VBScript, HTML, ASP and SQL server) and to write server-sided scripts/ scheduled tasks. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of implementing IT systems for office automation and of setting up multi-user web based systems along with windows server administration duties.

This is a full-time post (36.25 hours), preferably, offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 2 years, though we will accept applications requesting 0.8fte, 29 hours per week. Please indicate on you application the hours you wish to work.
