The School of Life Sciences wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Forensic Science. Applications are particularly sought from outstanding individuals with teaching experience that complement those that exist in physiology, anatomy, microbiology, genetics and/or proteomics. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The recently created School of Life Sciences is one of three schools in the Faculty of Health Sciences, along with the School of Health and Social Work and the Hull York Medical School.  Life Sciences comprises three subject areas: Biomedical Sciences, Psychology and Sports Health and Exercise Science.  Biomedical Sciences has benefited from extensive investment over the past 5 years and has a wide range of state of the art facilities, including dedicated Microbiology laboratories, NGS, Mass Spectrometry and flow cytometry.

Our staff are involved in a range of interdisciplinary activities across the university and at national/ international level. In REF 2014, Biomedical science staff made a major contribution to UoA3 Allied Health Professions, Dentistry, Nursing & Pharmacy the University’s leading submission. The University recently achieved a Silver award in the TEF and the successful applicant will be expected to contribute fully to the future TEF application for Biomedical Science.
