Events/Liaison Officer (HS0135R)

The Faculty of Health Sciences is seeking to appoint a full time Events/Liaison Officer to deliver the Faculty’s successful widening access and participation; schools’ liaison programme; and contribute to the wider employability agenda.

The post holder will work closely with Heads of Schools and Recruitment Team within the Faculty to work, plan and build strong partnerships with schools, colleges and other agencies.  Offer information, advice and guidance about higher education to young people and their parents, with a focus on under-represented groups. 

You will be required to deliver taster talks, school visits to the new Allam Medical Building Clinical Skills Suite and associated activities together with presentations to a variety of audiences in schools and colleges.  Represent/promote the Faculty of Health Sciences to prospective students at recruitment events locally and nationally.

The post holder will be required to evaluate all activities planned and delivered to Strategic Groups within the University and external agencies (e.g. HEFCE and OFFA).

You must have a degree or equivalent qualification, substantial experience of working in schools and/or with young people, and an appreciation of current issues within higher education. Experience of project/event management and data analysis is desirable together with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to cover a wide range of administrative tasks.  You must have a current driving licence and be prepared to be flexible as the role will involve some travel throughout the UK, time away from home and working evenings/weekends and outside of normal office hours when required.
