The University of Hull has recently made significant investments in interdisciplinary biomedical research. The Chemistry section occupies two buildings at the heart of the main campus, and was recently joined to the new Allam Building for Biomedical Research and Centre for Positron Emission Tomography. The University is also currently building a new Health Campus on the Hull site. As part of these initiatives the Chemistry section is offering degrees in Biochemistry taught in co-operation with staff from the School of Life Sciences. To support our excellent delivery of learning, teaching and research we are seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Biochemistry.
The successful candidate will develop and pursue a high quality research programme that compliments the current research themes in the School and University, for example contributing to the Interdisciplinary Clinical and Applied Health Institute. You will actively participate in the subject area’s teaching, reach-out, pastoral and administrative responsibilities with the main contribution to teaching being in the area of biochemistry. You will strive to enhance further the high-quality teaching we deliver and promote the employability of our undergraduate and postgraduate students through curricula that are current, research-led and internationally reputable, thus giving our students an exceptional learning experience. You will be expected to be a keen ambassador for the School’s achievements, both internally and to a broader external audience, building relationships and seeking opportunities to optimise the impact of the work we do.
