Bishop Grosseteste University is seeking to appoint a Partnerships Assistant (Higher Apprenticeship) to support the delivery of services in relation to apprenticeships and partnership activity.  The Higher Apprenticeship in Business and Professional Administration (Level 4) will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to study develop skills, knowledge and experience within a role that will support career progression within the field.  Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, alongside undertaking a professional role, the successful candidate will receive training and accreditation through a variety of blended learning, workshops and practical experience. Core elements of the role will include working with professional support and academic staff to ensure effective administration of relevant documentation – including the Virtual Learning Environment, funding compliance documentation, assignment related documentation and tracking, correspondence with staff and students, archiving of appropriate records and recording good practice.  Previous experience of education or training based administrative functions would be advantageous. As part of the Partnerships Development Team, the successful candidate will have the back-up and support of other administrative and professional support teams.  There is, however, a particular emphasis in the role on communication with assessors and students and the maintenance of records and communications with a wide range of stakeholders. Key skills in this area – such as an understanding of how the university supports work based learning, the ability to work with the assessment and tracking systems and experience of working with a range of departments both internal and external are, therefore essential. An understanding of work based learning courses and training routes is therefore desirable. The successful candidate will be proactive, methodical, able to work independently and have an eye for detail. They will be expected to be good at maintaining communication with staff, students and external agencies. They will need to take ownership of specific areas of work, and be innovative and creative in their approach to work and problem resolution.  The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and hard-working individual with a genuine desire to learn and to build a career in business administration within an education or training sector. They will have a friendly personality, able to work as part of a team and provide excellent customer service. Bishop Grosseteste University are looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude from someone who is keen to learn and isn’t afraid to ask questions. This is a full time position - 37 hours per week. Expected start date: 5th February 2018
