We have created more than 28 spinout companies since 2000, three of whom have been floated on the stock market and the University is a founding member of the SetSquared Partnership which has been rated the top university business incubator in the world.       

Research and Innovation Services is looking to expand on its existing technology transfer and enterprise capability to increase its agility in concluding deal flow. We are therefore looking for an Intellectual Property Commercialisation Officer to support other members of the team in the negotiation of licences, the management of intellectual property portfolio and support to enterprise activities. 

You will be responsible for the contract management support to a wide-ranging portfolio of commercialisation projects and enterprise units. You will also have responsibility for due diligence checks and rights clearance prior to the commercialisation of the University's intellectual property. You will possess commercial acumen, pragmatism and a solid understanding of intellectual property and enterprise activities to enable deals to be concluded in a timely manner looking out for the University's best interests. Commercially astute and technologically aware, you will work with world-class researchers, entrepreneurs, global partners and investors to help shape and develop strong mutually beneficial commercialisation deals. 

You will have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, be well-organised with the ability to multi-task and to work well as part of a virtual team. You will be a self-starter and enjoy the challenge of making things happen in a fast-moving environment.  If you can handle all this and you have a relevant expertise and experience with a keen interest to support the impact agenda and the commercialisation of research outputs then we would like to hear from you.
