This post is for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Higher Education within our Department of Higher Education, which undertakes pedagogical research and training to ensure that the University’s educational provision is sector-leading. The Department is research-led and evidence-based and gives direction to the enhancement of teaching and learning across our disciplines by providing academic leadership for the continued development of excellence in academic practice.

To confirm the position is for a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer dependent upon experience

The post holder will work closely with the Faculties to further develop the university’s recently implemented professional development framework and provide direct support to the preparation of subject-level Teaching Excellence Framework submissions, building on the work already undertaken by a range of teams across the institution.

The department offers certificated programmes and academic development opportunities to assist Faculties in the implementation of the strategic priorities set out in the University's Learning and Teaching Strategy. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to all areas of provision from our new PhD programme to a range of CPD events, as well as to support the development of the Surrey Excellence in Teaching (SET) framework and other projects/activities which underpin the university’s excellent educational provision. The successful candidate will have experience and interest in the impact of strategic policy implementation and initiatives within higher education.

The successful candidate will also have experience of supporting colleagues at various stages in their professional development as teachers and should have an active interest in research in higher education and academic development.
