We are a leading internal combustion engine research group, specialising in both experimental and modelling techniques. The group was awarded the prestigious position of Internal Combustion Engines - Thermal Efficiency Spoke by the UK’s Advanced Propulsion Centre (http://www.apcuk.co.uk/spokes/). We are looking for a research officer to operate our new state of the art test facility. The role will involve:

Execution of test programs developed in collaboration with the other researchers and students in the centreDay to day management of the centre's test rigs and engines including undertaking safety checks, ensuring equipment is correctly maintained and calibratedProcessing, checking and reporting of test results and working with other researchers in the centre, contributing to the dissemination of research results through conferences and journal publications Working with the centre's technicians, supporting the design, building and commissioning of new engines and test rigs.

This role would ideally suit a practically minded individual with a degree in engineering or a person with extensive experience in running combustion engines or similar experimental devices in a research environment. Although not essential, mechanical fitting and electrical skills would be beneficial.
