HHTU forms part of a major investment by the University in a Health Campus and the establishment of an Institute for Clinical and Applied Health Research (ICAHR).

HHTU has the ambition to support high quality, high impact health research, leading on the design, conduct and analysis of national multi-centre research. The establishment of HHTU will consolidate existing expertise, and accompanied with new investment in leadership, management and infrastructure will develop a unit with a clear pathway to becoming a UK Clinical Research Collaboration (UKCRC) Registered Clinical Trial Unit.

Reporting to the Director of HHTU, this key role will provide management for the information systems within the unit. Key responsibilities will include the implementation and management of an Electronic Data Capture system (EDC) and the development of robust quality assurance systems for all aspects of data handling. The appointed person will be responsible for delivering the full spectrum of HHTU information systems activities to the required scientific, ethical and regulatory standards.

The Information Systems Manager will be a member of the HHTU Senior Management Team (SMT) and work with colleagues in the University of Hull, the Faculty of Health Sciences, Information Communication Technology Department (ICTD), Information Governance and Compliance, the medical school and clinical teams from NHS Organisations.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative individual, who will be able to work flexibly and contribute to the further development of HHTU. The candidate will be a competent programmer (C#/VB.Net) with considerable experience in working with relational databases and SQL. They will be expected to be hands-on during the development phase, working with the Data Manager to implement systems and set-up HHTU policies and procedures.
