The Assessment and Progression Team (APT) at the Hull York Medical School are central to the overall quality of the student experience.  This is a busy and expanding team who are now seeking to appoint a full-time Assessment and Progression Administrator to provide highly effective support to a wide range of staff and students across multiple sites.

The Hull York Medical School has a diverse and growing student body with a now well established undergraduate five year MB BS programme, and an increasing range of taught and research postgraduate programmes. As part of the wider Professional Support Services, the Assessment and Progression Team currently provides administrative support for all aspects of assessment across the academic portfolio of the Medical School. 

The post holder will report directly to the Assessment and Progression Manager, whilst providing assistance to all members of the team to ensure deadlines and workload are effectively managed in this highly demanding environment.

As part of our commitment to excellence in medical and health education, we undertake on-going review of all of our academic and clinical programmes.This dynamic environment provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on and re-evaluate our structure and function, including the application, use and provision of assessment across the Medical School.

Based predominantly at the University of Hull, the post holder will develop key working relationships with academic and administrative staff across the Universities of Hull and York, academic staff external to the School, and our partners across the NHS. In order to successfully establish these working relationships, there will be a requirement for occasional travel to the University of York and NHS hospital sites across North and East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

This post requires an able and adaptable team member with good interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills with experience of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn new systems.
