The Admissions Service within the Student Recruitment Directorate is a key in providing an efficient, customer-focussed experience during the applicant journey to support the University in meeting its recruitment objectives. 

The Service also has a major role in upholding compliance to the University’s UKVI Tier 4 licence, carrying out risk assessment processes and working closely with UCAS and other external partners. We are seeking an Undergraduate Admissions Manager with strong leadership skills to manage the largest team in the Service and act as deputy to the Admissions Manager.

You will need to be a strategic thinker and also able to operate effectively at a practical level to review, plan and ensure delivery of the best possible processes. 

As the University is currently implementing a new student information system that includes admissions you will be joining an important change programme and will be expected to work collaboratively with other stakeholders, quickly developing strong working relationships and ensuring cross-working in the Directorate and with other services and faculties. 

This post reports to the Admissions Manager and acts as deputy to the Manager so you will manage the undergraduate process but also be able to work across other parts of the service as needed. You will be able to work effectively with external partners such as UCAS and the Hull York Medical School; be an effective staff manager; be flexible and responsive to planned and unexpected changes and challenge and be confident in working under pressure including overseeing central processes for summer Clearing.
