Sport, Health and Exercise Science is a growing subject area in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Continued investment in facilities, equipment, and high quality teaching and research staff has helped build our international reputation. Integral to our success has been a dedication to teaching and research excellence along with top-class facilities.

As a specialist Sport & Exercise Science Laboratory Technician, you will be based in our dedicated facilities, and will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support for our teaching and research endeavours within the discipline areas of Sport & Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition, including demonstrating where required. If successful in your application, you will help support our endeavours to apply for BASES Laboratory Accreditation in the near future.   

Specialist Sport & Exercise Science technician duties will include attending to the maintenance of laboratory equipment, and the management of laboratory processes including equipment calibration procedures, bookings and space. You will be closely involved in our Outreach programmes, and the supervision of student placement experience, and laboratory-based student research studies in conjunction with academic supervisors. The duties may involve some work commitment outside normal working hours for example, Open/Applicant Days.

You should have a minimum 2:1 degree in Sport & Exercise Science (or equivalent qualification). You should have excellent organisational and communication skills, previous experience of using and maintaining Sport & Exercise Science equipment would be advantageous.
