Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Business (PERM-67-2018)

Category: Academic | Hub: School of Humanities | Department: School of Humanities | Closing Date: 04 Feb 2018 |   The University is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Business who can contribute fully to the life of the Business and Enterprise area.  You will join an established, research-active team within an expanding area in the University.  In particular, you will support the development and delivery of our new BA (Hons) Business programme and will have the opportunity to contribute to the exciting and innovative BA (Hons) Business (Team Entrepreneurship) programme as well as the growing academic, commercial and community programmes that the Business team offer.  We are seeking an individual who is keen to self-develop and take advantage of training opportunities to benefit their practice, the Business and Enterprise area and the wider University. You will be a creative, flexible and committed individual who is dedicated to the concept of life-long learning.  You should be able to evidence the ability and desire to support ‘learning by doing’ and team-based approaches to learning, as well as practice based research.  You will also be able to evidence a desire to work collaboratively as part of a team.  In addition, as a Senior Lecturer, you will take an academic lead in some areas and support the management of the Business and Enterprise area, and the School as a whole, through engagement in working groups and/or committees as required. Candidates for the Lecturer post should be near completion or in possession of a PhD in a business related subject, and preferably have a record of publication.  As Senior Lecturer you will have completed your PhD in a related subject area and be able to evidence internationally excellent research, research and innovation projects or initiatives in your previous work. As a Lecturer, you should also have some experience of teaching in higher education. This is an Early Career post and as such, you will be supported in the development of your professional prospects.  As Senior Lecturer there is an expectation that you are experienced in delivery at HE level and that you are keen to develop student-centred learning approaches.
