About the Role
The Governance Office is seeking an individual to provide minute taking services for some of the University's central committees; primarily, the University Council and its sub-committees, for a limited period of time to cover staff absence. The period of employment will cover the next Council committee cycle, between February and March. The number of hours are estimated at a maximum of 35 for the period, as and when required. This includes attendance at meetings plus additional time following meetings to formulate the minutes for submission to the Secretary and the Chair of the relevant committee.

The core duties for the role are as follows:
- Attend meetings as required/agreed
- Take an accurate record of what is discussed and any actions raised
- Type the minutes up within the time frame agreed with the Chair / Secretary
- Send the completed minutes to the Chair / Secretary within the agreed time frame
- Make amendments to the minutes as advised
- Ensure minutes from the previous meeting are signed by the Chair

The successful candidate will be required to have excellent written skills, experience of writing minutes for formal committees / boards, and be IT literate. Knowledge of higher education governance processes is desirable but not essential. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.
