Psychology Technician (PSYCH059)

The University of West London is a leading modern university in the country specialising in the education and development of connected creative, business and service professionals. Psychology is currently the largest field within the School of Human and Social Sciences.

We are currently seeking a Technician to support our committed academic team in providing a high quality student experience on all our courses.

The successful candidate will provide technical support for staff and students’ in the School of Human and Social Sciences. The main purpose of the job will be to maintain the specialist equipment within Psychology, assist staff with SPSS workshops, and provide support to dissertation students and staff on using specialist equipment.

This is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified candidates. The role holder would ideally have relevant work experience of working in the Higher Education Sector either in Psychology, Physiology or as technical support in science. Additionally they should be have excellent IT skills including web content management (e.g. Blackboard), a proven track record in supporting the use of psychological experimentation devices in teaching and research and experience in installing and maintaining equipment and in supporting workshops and seminars.

Please be advised that it is expected that appointment within a grade will normally be at the minimum point.
