The Department of Library and Learning Support Services (LLSS) is seeking to appoint a Learning Development Librarian.

Based in the LLSS’s Learning Development team and working alongside Learning Development Advisors (LDAs) and other Learning Development Librarians (LDLs), you will take a leading role in the development and delivery of information literacy advice and support, including research skills training, for students in the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences (FHMS).

A major aspect of the role will involve working with teaching teams to embed training within academic programmes. You will also provide learning developmental support for students from across the University, via drop-ins, appointments and study-advisory workshop sessions. Working with members of the team and others, you will be involved in the creation of engaging, pedagogically-informed resources supportive of student learning and development.

You will have an honours degree or postgraduate/professional qualification in library / information science; a first degree or subject-knowledge gained through experience relevant to health sciences is essential.

A higher education learning and teaching qualification, or willingness to undertake such a qualification, is essential.

Experience of delivering information services in a higher education context is essential, as is competence in the use of ICT applications, web-authoring tools and a wide range of sophisticated electronic information resources.

Excellent communication and presentation skills together with the energy and ability to inspire and motivate students are additionally core to the role.
