Do you enjoy providing technical support to research studies? Do you have excellent analytical, organisational and time-management skills? Do you have technical skills in animal care and their maintenance including breeding (mostly transgenic rodents)?


We have a maternity cover opportunity of up to 12 months, for a veterinary technician at either Grade 5 or Grade 4 depending on qualifications, skills and experience, providing support to the team’s research studies.


You will be highly motivated and committed to supporting the work of the research academics, working in a team of staff involved in many aspects of animal care and maintenance including breeding (mostly transgenic rodents).You will be expected to maintain facilities and equipment in your area of responsibility ensuring you follow the relevant code of practice, and providing a consistent quality of service and support to the team of researchers.


You will have the appropriate laboratory and technical skills including UK-based experience, familiarity with the operation of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, and have attended the accredited Home Office personal licensee training courses modules 1-3 (modules 1-4 for the grade 5 role).
