The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.

The London College of Music is looking to appoint a Theatre Technician/demonstrator to join a team of theatre technicians who are responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of the College’s performance spaces and performance calendar.

The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills and will have a creative approach to problem solving within this busy and challenging College.  The successful candidate will be expected to contribute actively to the work of the team, participating in Get in and get out activities, design and installation as well as day to day management of the team and liaison with academic staff and visiting professionals.

You must be qualified to degree level (1st or 2:1) in Theatre Production or a closely related subject; a Masters degree or significant industry experience is desirable. A background in theatre lighting design, installation and operation is essential. You will be fluent in modern lighting systems, have a working knowledge of theatre audio and be comfortable designing and installing lighting and audio systems at height. Experience of theatre production cycles is very desirable and you will be able to demonstrate multiple production credits to completion. You will be experienced in Health and Safety in the theatre and used to working with other specialists.

It is expected that appointment within a grade will normally be at the minimum point.
