Description :

This is a new post offered on a two year fixed term contract or may be of interest to individuals on a secondment basis if supported by their current employer.

This post represents a new and exciting challenge and so we welcome interest from experienced administrators who have experience of working within the Higher Educations sector, ideally with a background of working closely with medical/health profession education.  The postholder will be expected to work closely with a wide range of academic, clinical and professional support colleagues as well as with student representatives and other groups so the ability to communicate effectively in a variety of different modes and at varying levels is essential.

The Academic Support Officer will be responsible for co-ordinating a number of different processes for assuring the overall quality of the student experience across a broad academic portfolio, and as priorities and projects evolve over time a flexible approach to managing projects or defined pieces of work will result in an interesting and dynamic workload.

If you are interested in this exciting challenge in the first instance please contact Alison Pettigrew, Head of Quality and Standards (alison.pettigrew@hyms.ac.uk) to arrange an informal discussion about the role, and/or apply directly by the closing date of 18 February 2018.

Interviews will be held in York on a date to be confirmed.
