Medical School Technician (6396)

The Medical School Technician will provide technical support for the Hull York Medical Schools. You will be based in the teaching laboratories at the Hull York Medical School (HYMS) building and will take an active role in supporting and monitoring all aspects of their use and access.

The facilities include; multipurpose function laboratory areas, a specialist laboratory (anatomy and anatomical pathology) licenced under the Human Tissue Act 2004 and clinical skills suites. 

You will be part of the technical team supporting the School.  You will be a confident, self-motivated person with good communication and organisational skills, who enjoys working in an environment where no two days are the same.

You will have relevant professional/vocational qualifications or qualifications gained in higher or further education, excellent organisation skills, the ability to use initiative and be able work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The post is based in York but will require occasional travel to Hull (an average one day a week) to ensure effective support for teaching and research on both HYMS main campuses.

The post is full-time (37 per week), term-time only.
