The School of Life Sciences encompasses three diverse subject groups - psychology; biomedical sciences; and sport, health and exercise science – and offers a comprehensive portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate education, all focused on developing skilled, motivated and highly-employable alumni. With research themes that range from lifestyle choices to personalised medicine, the School combines world-leading expertise with scientific discovery and health-related research that benefits the local, national and global community. 

With a keen focus on performance and pursuing excellence in all that we do, we are looking for a new Head of School to provide strong and ambitious leadership to help continue our growth and build on our interdependent academic offer. This is a high profile leadership appointment that requires both academic credibility and the ability to provide leadership and vision in promoting excellence in learning and teaching as well as research and enterprise, creating an environment in which these can flourish.
