Description :

The University of Hull is on a journey, one that is led by our commitment to delivering excellent research and a fantastic student experience. Over the last few years the higher education landscape has altered dramatically, and it is imperative as a University that we do not stand still. We are committed to evolving our approach to ensure that we meet the needs of our students, regional, national and global collaborators and partners, both now and in the future.

The Faculty of Arts, Cultures and Education is fundamentally multi-disciplinary in composition. It comprises three Schools: the School of Arts; the School of Education

and Social Sciences; and the School of Histories, Languages and Cultures.  Recognising that research and enterprise are part of a continuum, the University wants to significantly increase the level of research and enterprise activity and in support of this the University is undergoing a £200m investment programme. As part of this investment, the new role of Faculty Director for Business Engagement and Enterprise has been created. Reporting to the Dean the Director will provide strategic leadership for all the Faculty’s business engagement and enterprise activity. In addition, they will work with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), Director of Research, Head of Commercialisation and peers across other faculties to develop and implement University plans for business engagement and enterprise activities.

With a keen focus on performance and pursuing excellence in all that we do, we are looking for a strong leader to drive active engagement with business and corporate partners, including private sector, public sector and community bodies. The post holder has to champion and promote business engagement and enterprise and ensure that the Faculty is fully aligned around the need to drive a step change in performance on collaborations and income from external sources.

This is a time of great opportunity for the University of Hull. If you are keen to pursue a stimulating, challenging and professionally fulfilling career, we want to hear from you.  For full information on this appointment and how you can help shape our future and your own, please visit andersonquigley.com/go-beyond.
