Sport, Health and Exercise Science is a growing subject area within the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Hull. Continued investment in facilities, equipment, and high quality teaching and research staff has helped build our international reputation. Integral to our success has been a dedication to both teaching and research excellence along with top-class facilities.

As a Lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation, you will be based in our dedicated facilities within the Washburn Building. You will be specifically responsible for providing high-quality teaching and support for research within the Sport Rehabilitation programme. Given the clinical/vocational nature of the work, you may be, or able to be registered with a relevant professional body (BASRaT, CSP, SST, Athletic Training, or equivalent) and able to demonstrate initiative and judgement and to develop specialist knowledge within given areas of responsibility.  This post will involve the supervision of undergraduate students, including work placements and final-year dissertations. Clinically qualified post-holders will also be involved in contributing and supervising within our outreach sports injury and massage clinic.

The availability of state-of-the-art equipment and facilities supported by dedicated technical staff provides numerous teaching and research opportunities for staff and students. Sport Rehabilitation facilities include examination rooms with plinths, diagnostic ultrasound, electrotherapy and access to a large multifunctional laboratory containing multiple force plates, integrated 20 high-speed camera system, EMG, isokinetic dynamometer and computerised dynamic posturography/balance systems.

You should have a minimum 2:1 degree in Sport Rehabilitation (or equivalent qualification) and relevant professional accreditation or experience, in Sport Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, Athletic Training, (or equivalent). You should have good organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, a student-centred approach and have a passion for scholarship and continued professional development.
