An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Clinical Trial Co-ordinator within the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology (CEBD), School of Medicine, University of Nottingham based at the King’s Meadow Campus. CEBD has an international reputation for independent research into the prevention and treatment of skin disease. It is the editorial base for the Cochrane Skin Group and the co-ordinating centre for the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network- for further details visit 

The role holder will work with local research nurses and investigators to support the successful delivery and follow up of a number of clinical trials related to skin conditions. They will be responsible for providing operational management, including co-ordinating and supporting patients taking part in studies and some data management activities, at study sites local to Nottingham. There will be a particular focus on supporting two large clinical trials on eczema, the BEEP study and the BEE study. BEE is a pragmatic trial investigating the effectiveness of the most commonly used types of emollients (moisturisers) for eczema in children and this study is recruiting from GP practices across three areas of the UK including Nottingham. BEEP is an eczema prevention study at follow up stage. These studies are both funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). 

We are seeking an individual with experience of working in a clinical trials research environment who has a high level of organisational skills and is capable of working without close supervision with good attention to detail. Due to the activities involved, it is particularly important for the role-holder to have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, particularly on the telephone. Applications are particularly welcomed from candidates who have previously worked in a University or NHS research environment.

This post is offered on a fixed term contract for one year on a part time basis (0.6FTE, 21.75 hours per week) and the role holder will be line managed by CEBD Centre Manager Carron Layfield.
