This is an exciting opportunity to join the Executive Office team working at the heart of the University where the successful candidate will gain an unparalleled insight across a broad range of portfolios. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our professional administration team, working in a dynamic, stimulating and constantly evolving environment, right at the heart of the organisation, providing comprehensive and confidential support service to members of The University of Nottingham’s Executive Board (including Pro-Vice-Chancellors and Senior Leaders of Professional Services). The Executive Office provides full-service support to members of University Executive Board.  The University of Nottingham is a truly global university, ranked in the UK and European top 30 and in the top 1 per cent of all universities worldwide. 

You will be responsible for providing exemplary proactive and flexible professional support to University Executive Board Members, working as part of a team. This role is varied and challenging, providing an opportunity for the successful candidate to be responsible for a broad range of administrative support including the provision of secretariat support for meetings and committees, drafting a variety of correspondence, and working with colleagues across the University to provide professional support to high profile events and delegations. The post holder is responsible for ensuring the most effective use of their Executive Board member’s time. They will also be expected to lead on a particular area of responsibility as set out in the role profile.

To be considered for this post, previous experience of working with senior management as an administrator in a busy office environment is essential. The ability to manage a diverse workload, switching between tasks and concepts quickly and easily is also key. The successful candidate will be a strong team player, have excellent communication skills, will be proactive, have a drive for service improvement, and will be able to maintain confidentiality and use their discretion at all times. They must enjoy working flexibly as part of a team and be able to produce high quality work to tight timescales. 

Candidates should be educated to HNC or HND plus hands on experience in a similar role, or equivalent, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and use of business systems for progressing work and have relevant work experience. 

This is a full-time, permanent post and the successful candidates will be required to work 36.25 hours per week. A flexible approach to working is required in order to provide cover during office hours. Job share arrangements may be considered.
