Description :

One year maternity cover - 0.5 or 0.6 FTE (Hours of work are flexible for 21 hours per week)

Based at the Wessex Institute, the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Dissemination Centre helps clinicians, commissioners and patients to make informed decisions about which treatments and practices are most effective in health care, social care and public health. We do this by publishing accessible, informative summaries of key NIHR research, with context and commentary from practitioners, decision-makers and patients.

We have an opportunity for an experienced researcher and writer to help us scope, research and produce our reports on topics of importance to health and social care. You will be involved in searching and sifting evidence to identify strong stories, pulling together key messages and drafting engaging, interesting text.

You should have experience of critical appraisal and literature review, including searching from a range of sources and organising and presenting your findings. You will have excellent analytical skills and the ability to draw out key messages. You should also have the ability to write clear, engaging research summaries, and a good knowledge of the current health and social care landscape. You will be working as part of a small team and will need to be flexible in your approach, able to work with others and independently.

We offer excellent benefits including generous holidays, flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop your career in a professional, friendly and pleasant working environment. The post is a maternity cover for one year.
