Description :

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in bio-electronic to design and test adaptive neural networks which will form the core of intelligent cardiac pacemakers.  The role will require transferring adaptive models into neural circuits and testing their performance.  The postdoc will conduct a range of experiments to optimise these models using simulated physiological signals and in-vivo.  The postdoc will have responsibility for integrating and testing the neural chips embedded within the pacemaker board and testing the chips in a range of environments.  The work will take place within a H2020 multipartner multidisciplinary consortium and will provide frequent opportunities for working jointly with physicists, physiologists, engineers and medical teams.

The aim of the consortium will be to provide much needed therapy for cardiorespiratory disease.  By restoring heart rate adaptation and natural heart rate variability, the project will make a significant contribution to extending patients’ lives and improving patients’ quality of life.

The position is offered on a full time basis, for up to 3 years.

Applicants with a PhD in Physics / Electrical Engineering are encouraged to apply.
