We are renowned for our emphasis on programmes which prepare students for professional practice within and outside of the legal profession and have close links with law firms and businesses throughout the region. The School has gained an international reputation as a major centre for academically rigorous legal education and training.  Located in the heart of the City of Birmingham, we provide a dynamic environment for our students and staff. We are looking for a highly motivated and established academic with experience commensurate to the level of Senior Lecturer to lead our LLM in International Business Law.  The candidate should have a good publication record and will have the opportunity to shape our intellectual agenda between business and international law.  The successful applicant will be required to teach on the LLM and make a contribution to our LLB, experience of or an ability to supervise PhD students to completion is desirable. The individual will have experience of and the ability to lead/contribute to at least two of the following areas: international corporate law, international commercial law, competition law, or international commercial arbitration.  Experience in either banking, insurance or tax law will also be a distinct advantage. The incoming post-holder will be required to help drive the global profile of the LLM International Business Law programme so it is highly likely the role will include collaboration with international partners/and or international travel.  The School of Law at Birmingham City University is also looking for a highly motivated legally qualified academic with established practice experience commensurate with the level of Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will be required to lead and further develop our clinical activities which provide our law students with experience of advising and representing real clients.  The individual must either have an up to date practicing certificate or anticipate that attaining one will not be an issue.  As a Senior Lecturer you will also be expected to contribute to at least one foundation area on the LLB in addition to appropriate areas related to your expertise.
