Open to current University of Leeds Undergraduate students only

Are you a current University of Leeds undergraduate student, with an interest in Equality and Inclusion? Would you like to gain valuable experience of contributing to projects which will impact on our ambitious equality and inclusion objectives? Do you want to utilise and build your qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills?

We are looking for a current Leeds undergraduate student to join us as an Intern in a professional office environment, in an organisation recognised for its high quality of academic provision, commitment to excellence and good practice. Our Internships are designed to enhance your employability and as such you will develop key skills and experience for your CV, including team work, interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, organisation, high quality administration, data analysis and project development.

You will provide assistance to a range of equality and inclusion initiatives, especially in relation to our Athena SWAN action plan. This will involve quantitative and qualitative data analysis and project assistance, helping to ensure objectives are delivered in an effective and timely manner.

The Athena SWAN Charter encourages and recognises commitment to advancing gender equality for all staff and students in Higher Education and research. The Faculty of Engineering was awarded Silver Athena SWAN status in 2016, and is now working towards making a resubmission to retain this status in April 2019. The Faculty is also committed to proactively advancing equality more generally.

With an interest in pursuing a career in social, statistical or operational research, or project management you will have excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to complete tasks to agreed deadlines, plus experience of analysing qualitative and quantitative data. You will also have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team; with a positive and proactive approach to problem solving and making improvements. Strong IT skills and proficiency in the use of MS Office products (particularly Word and Excel) are essential.
