You will utilise facilities within the Engineering Department to provide and deliver technical input to a range of projects with businesses as part of the CUSP (Cumbria Innovations Platform) Project. The CUSP Project (part funded by the European Regional Development Fund) aims to work with small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in Cumbria, providing those businesses with access to state-of-the-art facilities and expertise to underpin new product and process development for the advanced engineering and manufacturing and other sectors in Cumbria. The project will utilise different delivery mechanisms to achieve this from the Departments of Chemistry, Engineering and Physics. 

You will have a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related subject area and a have a desire to establish a professional career within the discipline area. You will have experience of engineering design, design-for manufacture and be conversant with additive manufacturing technologies. A positive pro-active attitude is important as is the motivation to solve industrially-generated problems. Effective communication and the ability to deliver a project through to completion is a significant requirement of the role. 

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity in a vibrant business partnerships team in a world-leading university. The post is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. The role is fixed term until 30 June 2019.
