2 Team Leader Vacancies

Following a major restructuring of Professional Services within the Faculty we have two vacancies for Team Leaders within our centralised Professional Services. This is an exciting time to join the University and Faculty of Science and Engineering as we undergo a period of transformation and investment in new systems and infrastructure.  

The vacancies are based within the central hub which supports the 3 Schools which make up the Faculty: Engineering and Computer Science; Environmental Studies; Mathematics and Physical Sciences. 

Team Leader: Programme Services (Student Hub)

The post-holder will lead and supervise a small team of dedicated staff responsible for administration and support for students and programmes of study and will deliver high-quality provision focussed on excellent customer service to both students and staff. 

Teams in the hub are responsible for, inter alia: supporting admissions and applications processes; supporting Welcome Week, enrolment and registration of students; monitoring student attendance and engagement; using the student information system to update student records, input marks, carry out credit checks, record module choices, record assessment submissions and allocation of Academic Support Tutors, and producing reports as required. Some reception duties are also expected. 

The hub works as a collective and the Hub Manager will work with Team Leaders and colleagues to manage workload peaks to ensure delivery of the service across the Faculty as a whole. 

Team Leader: Quality Office

The Faculty Quality team is responsible for ensuring that all quality assurance processes, codes of practice and quality enhancement activity are delivered effectively by the Faculty. 

The Team Leader will work closely with the Quality Manager and will lead and supervise a small team of dedicated staff responsible for ensuring the relevant quality processes are carried out in the timeframes required. The Quality Office team is responsible for, inter alia: management of the module evaluation questionnaire process, supports Staff/Student Forums, engages with and ensures the readiness of information and documentation for External Examiners, ensures programme and modules are correctly recorded and supports accreditation events. The team also support quality enhancement activity as required. 

Application

Applications are sought from those prepared to work flexibly and collegiately. The successful candidates will need to have proven communication skills to foster good working relationships within the Faculty and across university service teams. Experience of supervising staff and delegation of work is essential, as is confidence in the use of databases and digital systems.
