Description :

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Do you have a background in stratospheric composition science? Do you want to further your career in one of the UK’s leading research intensive Universities?

The research scientist role will involve experiments with the UK’s community composition-climate model (http://www.ukca.ac.uk) and collaborating with a range of international project partners to interpret observations of aerosol particles and polar clouds in the stratosphere, taken from high-altitude aircraft and balloons, and measured by instruments carried on satellites orbiting the earth.

The applicant must have a very high proficiency in Linux and Fortran programming, with experience of developing models of aerosol or other particulate populations, including their application on supercomputing resources. A proven record of publication in international peer-reviewed journals is also a pre-requisite.
