Head of Finance (Faculties and Professional Services and Strategic Programmes) (2 posts) (FAB104218)

Applications are invited for two exciting new opportunities within the Financial Management team. 

We are recruiting for two new positions, reporting directly to the Deputy Director of Finance, to lead the team that is deployed across the University to provide financial decision support, purchase administration, financial control and governance to the University.

Head of Finance: Faculties will be accountable for leading the Finance team that supports the five academic faculties and their leadership teams.

Head of Finance: Professional Services and Strategic Programmes will be accountable for leading the Finance team that supports the nine professional services departments and their leadership teams. This role will also lead the team that is responsible for the financial evaluation and management of strategic programmes across the University (such as the Research Beacons) and work closely with the Programme Management team to drive financial delivery and financial governance of strategic programmes.

Either role will enable you to play a key role within the University of Nottingham, both in driving operational performance against budget and being instrumental in the development and deployment of the medium term financial plan for the University.

Our ideal candidate would be:

Professionally qualified accountant with relevant post qualification experience in both financial management and accounting at a senior level. The candidate will have experience of managing a team. Able to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and teams. Strong communicator, experienced in communicating to non-Finance personnel, comfortable challenging the status quo, credible with senior stakeholders.Able to analyse and interpret complex financial information, providing insight through simple and effective presentation of management information. Comfortable dealing with ambiguityWell organised and flexible. Able to define priorities and work flexibly and effectively under pressure to meet demanding and sometimes conflicting deadlinesDemonstrates strategic vision and decision making Excellent business IT skills with Office, financial and other business systems
