The University is now seeking to appoint a Director of Innovation Strategy, directly responsible for driving its innovation agenda of growing the scale, quality and distinctive capabilities of our research, its impact and innovation. Reporting to the Vice-Provost, Research and Innovation, the post holder will have a high level of autonomy and proactively lead by creating, developing and delivering new and existing University-wide research and innovation strategies. The Director of Innovation Strategy has line management responsibility for: Technology Transfer; Incubation and Student Enterprise, and dual shared responsibility for Partnerships and External Engagement.

An inspirational leader, the successful candidate will be an enabler who delivers a shared purpose by creating effective networks with senior colleagues across the University community, and externally with key stakeholders and contacts. The successful candidate will have a reputation for strong connections with industry, which might include a Technology, Creative or Health background, or a connection to mass consumer markets. They will possess strong business acumen; have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; confidently represent the University externally; and be able to identify, develop and deliver strategies with far-reaching impact to build upon our strengths in creating genuine value for society.
