Description :

Your effective administration skills will be welcome in this busy fixed-term role, based in our friendly accommodation office in Eastbourne, where you will help our students with their accommodation enquiries and advice, signposting when necessary. Providing a comprehensive accommodation service is vital in ensuring our students have a positive university experience and you will play a key role by being responsible for the allocation of student accommodation and carrying out the day-to-day administration.

Key to success in the role is knowledge of the issues affecting students looking for accommodation, including basic property maintenance issues and previous experience of working in a similar environment.  Additionally, you will need the ability to plan and prioritise your workload and to work systematically with attention to detail, and a working knowledge of Word processing, spreadsheet and database packages.  The ability to provide a high level of customer service is also essential, as are effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills to work with a wide range of customers and the ability to listen well and understand the needs of others.

Some weekend work may be required during busy periods in August and September.

The post is a fixed term post to cover maternity leave until 31 May 2019.

In return, the university offers a range of benefits, such as a generous annual leave package, including time off over the Christmas period, and travel loan and childcare voucher schemes.  Further information on the benefits of working here can be found on our website.
