An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Bath to work with Professor Chris Bowen, who has been awarded a European Research Council Proof of Concept Grant.

This Research Assoicate post will examine thermal energy harvesting devices and manufacture proof of concept demonstrators. The applicant will also need the potential to contribute to other energy harvesting activities within the group, such as vibration and pyroelectric harvesting. Research will be disseminated in high impact journals and key international conferences, and workshops/trade shows.  Visits to collaborators are expected and interaction with potential industrial interest in the harvesting technology.

Candidates  should have their degree and PhD in a relevant discipline (materials, physics, electrical engineering) and a enthusiastic approach to multi-disciplinary research.  Applicants with skills in energy harvesting, piezoelectrics, electro-chemical characterisation and the impact of electric fields on chemical reactions are preferred.

This post is full time (36.5 hours per week) and is being offered on a fixed term contract basis of up to 15 months in duration.
