Applications are invited for the post of a postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the research team at the Tony Davies High Voltage Laboratory at the University of Southampton. More information can be found at http://www.highvoltage.ecs.soton.ac.uk/

The successful applicant must have a *PhD or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in High Voltage Engineering, expertise in the analysis of site data and experience in the use of numerical modelling tools such as finite element analysis. The role will involve conducting research on a large, industrially funded research project for a high profile UK sponsor, as well as supporting the enterprise agenda of the laboratory.

In addition to the above specific research experience, the successful applicant should also be able to present research results at group meetings and conferences, generate project reports, write up research results for publication in leading peer-viewed journals and to work proactively with colleagues across the laboratory to achieve the required project outcomes. The nature of the role will require working across disciplines and will include engagement with multiple suppliers, contractors and site personnel. Excellent organisational and communication skills are hence a requirement.

The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon successful completion of the PhD.  Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
