Description :

We are looking for a lecturer to teach and assess diverse aspects of chemistry, with an emphasis on physical chemistry.  You will be provided with laboratory space as appropriate, as well as access to the school facilities, to support you in undertaking research. Chemistry staff research ranges across the breadth of the subject with particular strengths in multidisciplinary collaborations underpinning biological and environmental applications.

You will qualified to PhD level in Chemistry, and committed to educating students using a mixture of traditional and innovative teaching methods.   You will be joining a vibrant and growing chemistry team where the majority of your teaching will be on our highly successful undergraduate chemistry degree programmes (accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry, and 100% satisfaction in NSS and Professional employment in DLHE in recent years). Some teaching at masters and foundation levels will also be required and you may be asked to contribute to programmes in other subject areas including Pharmacy and Biosciences.  Academic staff at Brighton support student learning through open, friendly, student-centred attitudes. You will also be provided with staff development and training as required to support your development as an educator. 

All staff participate in the administration of teaching and research within the School, for example through the leadership of modules and participation in committee work.
