Enterprise Database Administrator + Business Intelligence Analyst (IT060)

The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.  The IT Services Department at the University of West London is a dynamic and forward looking department and is currently undergoing a series of transitional projects to improve staffing and student IT facilities across all sites.

To that effect, we are looking for two committed, focussed and experienced Database Administrators with Business Intelligence Analytical skills to join our IT Services team in providing first class support of the universities database portfolio. The role will focus on developing, implementing and maintaining the database portfolio supporting all University business applications and will be leading participant in the Enterprise Service Bus as part of the strategy for systems integration.

A degree or equivalent experience would be required for this role, however it is important that you have the ability, experience and knowledge to deal with this demanding but rewarding role.

This role demands a thorough understanding, knowledge and experience of database design and management across a number of platform including but not exhausted to Oracle and Microsoft SQL technologies. The role would cover a variety of disciplines in the field of Database Administration and Business Intelligence data analytics which would mean the ideal candidate would be multi-disciplined and be able to excel at team collaboration. We expect you to have the energy and passion to deliver and support using a range of technologies and have a solid demonstrable understanding of management information principles including data exchange across various cloud based systems.

You should be exceptional at picking things up quickly, explaining things clearly to a range of technical and non-technical audiences. You should be able to prioritise your work even when you're busy. You should have fantastic communication skills yourself and not afraid to prepare ongoing documentation using industry standard tools.
