Description :

In March 2018, The Higher Education Funding Council England (HEFCE) and Health Education England (HEE) confirmed that the University of Lincoln’s collaborative bid with the University of Nottingham to establish a new medical school was successful.  The School will make a huge difference to the Lincolnshire region, which will benefit from the establishment of this hub of medical expertise: clinical placements will take place at hospitals, GP surgeries and other healthcare units across the county in collaboration with United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust and the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.  This new Medical School will welcome its first cohort of undergraduate medicine students here in September 2019.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a versatile individual who will play a central role in both the establishment and on-going co-ordination of operational activities within the School.  This will be a varied and busy role, working under the direction of the Project Manager and in collaboration with University of Nottingham and other University of Lincoln colleagues to deliver the implementation plan as well as leading and contributing to specific recruitment and student administration activities.

A sound background in administrative, professional and secretarial support will be essential for this role together with experience of working on and supporting discrete projects.

As challenges emerge the post holder will be required to be flexible, responsive and pro-active to meet the changing needs and adaptations to working practices, processes and activities.  The post holder will be expected to acquire a sound level of knowledge about the activities and complexities within the Medical School and its delivery model.

The post is being made available to internal candidates only in support of our commitment to developing staff by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion. Therefore we actively encourage applications from all staff across the University with the relevant skills and experience.
