Description :

The University of Surrey is a global university with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward thinking, our heritage shows a recurring theme of going our own way and doing things differently. Ranked in top ten in all major UK league tables and the 2016 Times/Sunday Times University of the year, Surrey has ambitious plans for the future.

At Surrey, philanthropy and alumni relations are known as Advancement. At the University, Advancement is set to grow and develop over the coming years and will have an increasingly important role in helping the University achieve its global objectives and mobilising our 110,000+ alumni to help us do this.

We are looking to enrich our team with a highly organised, proactive individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a track record of providing excellent customer service. They will undertake the role of Alumni Relations and Stewardship Co-ordinator and will primarily provide excellent customers service in responding to our alumni enquiries as well as ensuring that our donors are kept informed about the vital impact their gifts make to Surrey. The role will ensure that all donors are kept informed about the way gifts are put to use and this will involve organising events and meetings and writing regular feedback reports.

The successful candidate will be able to multi-task and manage a varied workload ranging from long term projects whilst handling daily enquiries as well as managing specific projects related to all aspects of the fundraising. They need to be interested in higher education and the work of the University of Surrey and be able to develop relationships and manage communication with a wide range of internal and external audiences.

In return, we offer a highly competitive salary, generous annual leave allowance, defined pension scheme, on-site childcare facilities and the opportunity to join one of the UK’s best universities with a strong commitment to building its philanthropic support and donor relations programme.
