This is an exciting and newly developed opportunity that will see the successful post holder become part of the wider Counselling and Wellbeing team. This team is made up of Counsellors, SSGT Manager (managing approximately 16 SSGTs), Student Experience & Equalities Manager, Curriculum Development Manager (Wellbeing and curriculum workshops) and Nursing (Medical Centres).  You will be working closely with other colleagues in the department, particularly the Disability and Dyslexia team.

The role responds to increased demand in the management of complexity in regard to student support, particularly, at times, in regard to mental health where there is a requirement or consideration of specialist provision.  The role will take forward the management of a caseload of individual students and coordinate both their statutory and university support requirements.  There will be opportunities to develop an effective network and you will be responsible for the production of care and recovery plans to enable the student/s lead fulfilling lives and, complete study.

The role will demand that you are knowledgeable about local mental health and third sector organisations and have a background experience of managing risk in a high pressure environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and organisational skills are essential, together with significant experience of working within a large organisation e.g. a university or the NHS.
